The Vandals were ardent Arian Christians, and their persecutions of the Roman Catholic Church in Africa were at times fierce, particularly during the last years of the reign of Gaiseric’s successor, Huneric (reigned 477–484). Montana struggled to get any closer than 10 until under the two-minute mark, when Brickner punctuated his standout night with a powerful two-hand slam to reach the 20-point threshold and send the Idaho bench and the title game crowd to its feet. The Vandals continued to dictate the tempo down the stretch, stringing together key stops while converting timely baskets on the offensive end. HOW IT HAPPENED The two sides traded blows early in a high-intensity opening half, as both teams battled to maintain momentum through the first 20 minutes.
It is now said the presence of tektites in both their bodies allows the two enemies to sense each other and sometimes be drawn to each other. The Immortal Man is still present at Savage's origin, and still fashions an amulet from a piece of the meteor. The Post-Crisis version of Savage is more bloodthirsty, and it is suggested by some that he is the first cannibal on record in human history. In this new history, Savage is still originally a Cro-Magnon warrior called Vandar Adg, now said to have been leader of the Blood Tribe.
Along with the Immortal Man, Savage makes enemies of many across history, including the early human Anthro and the immortal mystic known as the Phantom Stranger. Though he is unaware of it at the time, Vandar Adg had intestinal cancer when he was made immortal. Savage eventually learns the meteor did not empower him through radiation but by infecting him with sub-atomic robots it carried called "tektites". Later on, Savage, once again immortal, alters the history of Earth-One so that he has been its ruler for centuries, with Superman serving as his trusted enforcer. Though he regains his full state of physical being later and returns to Earth-Two, he still fails to regain his immortality.
From this, historian Peter Heather concludes that at this time the Vandals were located in the region around the Middle and Upper Danube. According to Jordanes' Getica, the Hasdingi came into conflict with the Goths around the time of Constantine the Great. The Hasdingi, who later led the Vandal invasion of Carthage, do not appear in written records until the 2nd century and the time of the Marcomannic wars. He names them as one of the groups sometimes thought to be one of the oldest divisions of these peoples, along with the Marsi, Gambrivii, and Suebi, but does not say where they live, or which peoples are within this category. The name of the Vandals has been connected to that of Vendel, the name of a province in Uppland, Sweden, which is also eponymous of the Vendel Period of Swedish prehistory, corresponding to the late Germanic Iron Age leading up to the Viking Age. Renaissance and early-modern writers characterized the Vandals as prototypical barbarians, due to their 14-day Sack of Rome, leading to the use of the term "vandalism" to describe any form of wanton destruction, particularly the "barbarian" defacing of artwork.
In 546 the Vandalic Dux of Numidia, Guntarith, defected from the Byzantines and raised a rebellion with Moorish support. Again, the Vandals fought well but eventually broke, this time when Gelimer's brother Tzazo fell in battle. Externally, the Vandal power had been declining since Genseric's death, and Gunthamund lost early in his reign all but a small wedge of western Sicily to the Ostrogoths which was lost in 491 and had to withstand increasing pressure from the autochthonous Moors. Historian Andy Merrills uses the large amounts of African Red Slip ware discovered across the Mediterranean dating from the Vandal period of North Africa to challenge the assumption that the Vandal rule of North Africa was a time of economic instability. In 428, Gunderic captured Seville for a second time but died while laying siege to the city's church. The capture of the maritime city of Cartagena enabled the Vandals to engage in widespread naval activities.
When a tektite-empowered creature emerges from a time-warp, apparently from the same source that produced the meteor that gave Savage and Immortal Man their power years ago, it causes chaos and starts to disrupt reality. As with the Silver Age stories, the meteor that made him immortal is one that travels by warping through space and time, now specifically said to have originated from the future. Later, his body rebuilds itself from the ash, either due to his healing always being this powerful or because the meteor's radiation temporarily enhanced his immortal abilities. Later on, he uses the Superman of Earth-Two as a power source to recharge his immortality. Savage manipulates Jay Garrick and Barry Allen into helping him free the meteor back into Earth's atmosphere, hoping another exposure will recharge his immortality. He learns that the meteor that made him immortal in the first place did not explode into ash as he thought but actually warped through space and time, crossing through dimensions and into Limbo.
Now in the modern-day, he wishes to become a powerful figure in the government and war industry. After being exposed to gases from a meteor, Savage is rendered comatose for months and awakens to discover that he has gained eternal youth. In candy96.fun 2016, DC Rebirth restored much of the pre-New 52 history while making some new changes.
Later on, the Immortal Man (having apparently relocated to Earth-One) recruits a team of Forgotten Heroes to combat Savage's schemes. Realizing Savage is a cruel leader who censors news media so only good things are said about his rule, Superman joins the rebellion against the villain and then restores the original history. Savage hopes to also take all of Superman's power, but Earth-Two's heroes arrive and foil the scheme. With this amulet, Klarn gains a unique reincarnation ability; every time he is killed or dies, he quickly reappears elsewhere on Earth in a new body, fully clothed, and with his memories of all past lives intact. A later story reveals that a fragment of the same radioactive meteor is recovered by a caveman named Klarn of the Bear Tribe, an enemy of Vandar Adg, who then makes it into an amulet.

Vandal Savage claims to have been several noteworthy figures of history, but it has been shown that at least some of these boasts are false, a means of taking credit and seeming more important. As he grows older, Savage realizes he has three human enemies who constantly reincarnate, though unlike the Immortal Man they do so in the traditional sense, needing to literally be reborn as children again following each death. Similarly, Savage often fights the time traveler Rip Hunter and his allies across the millennia.
